The West Texas Roller Dollz are active and competing members of the flat track roller derby world.  We proudly support a nationally ranked Travel Team skating as THE WEST TEXAS ROLLER DOLLZ.

Last year was by far our best! We took 10th place at regionals, and gained valuable insight into the booming world of  Womens Flat Track Derby. We have enjoyed bringing you some amazing derby action in 2009.  We look forward to the challenges and changes 2010 will bring.  We welcome any and all persons interested in the West Texas Roller Dollz to make it out to one of our events, practices, and bouts.

Off the Track: I work for Texas Tech University in the area of Occupational Safety. I have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.  My family has a loyal pet dog named Molly. She’s been a part of our family for 11 years.  I’ve been married 11 years to my biggest derby supporter.

In the League: I currently hold the position of President, skater, and Merch. Director.

Injuries: Chipped Elbow, strained PCL, and bruises

Locals: If I’m hanging out its usually with my derby sisters at the Library, Jakes, or the Office. For a strong drink, it’s with my hubby at Applebee’s. I can usually be found on Saturday mornings at Rue 21 shopping. My fav places to eat are Applebee’s, Hong-Kong, and Pizza Hut.

Off the Track Work for American Airlines. 2 children Zeta and Hunter. Hobbies: Roller Derby, Motorcross. Pets: Twitch (english bulldog).

Injuries: Almost broke my ankle once and lots of rink rash.

Locals: Favorite fast food is Taco Villa. Can be found hanging out at home . Or whereever derby girls go.

On the Track: Blocker

Off the Track: House wife by day- not your average housewife. Have a loving husband who takes care of me and our three dogs, 1 cat, and 1 turtle. I love hanging out with my family and getting rowdy. You can find me at home playing in the pool or working in our yard or garden. I also spend as much time as possible with my God-daugther, Madeline. Durring school time I enjoy learning about God and going to bible study fellowship with many local ladies.

In the League: Currently director of human resources and on the track committee which helps setup, tear down and track security.

Known For: Not too much makes me stick out. I love to skate and it shows. My name isn’t just a name Im pretty innocent… Until you get to know me. I have long hair which is usually braided on the rink.

Injuries: Possible broken collar bown, broken tailbone, has had numerous bruises from flying elbows, hands, helmets, and skate floors!

Locals: Can usually find me at home with family or friends or even at the lake playing in the water. I camp and am usually shopping for my family and “ani” babies – where ever that may lead me. No matter how mundane the task is I can turn it into an adventure.

Off the Track: Work at AT&T and the Avalanche Journal. Writer and professional party girl.

In the League: Insurance rep, Entertainment committee, press writer for WFTDA.

Known For: Hard hits, crazy crashes, and intense personality.

Injuries: Busted up chin, bruise that covered the back side of my thigh, and a cut and bruise on my chest.

Off the Track: TA and grad student in the classics program at TTU. Hanging out with my cat named Willow, and studying languages.

In the League: Hospitality committee and travel team captain.

Known For: Hard hits, mercilessness and ejection just one – 1st in WTRD!!! After party DD.

Injuries: Many bruises, broken finger in 08.

Locals: Love to shop and hang out at Wal-Mart,Thai Thai, Cancun, Cracker Barrel, Fast Eddies, Buca’s, LaDiosa , Sugar Browns, and the park.

On the Track: None yet! Still fresh meat but hopefully not for long I would like to Jam or Pivot though.

Off the Track: Psychology consumes my life!!! I’m a full time Ph.D. student in clinical psychology, work as a part time instructor, and part time therapist. I don’t have much free time but I love to spend it with my fiance, step kids, and 2 neurotic cats . When I get the chance I travel to my home town of El Paso, Texas to visit my family – I get home sick .

In the League: Public relations and events coordinator.

Injuries: Tons and tons of bruises (Especially on my left knee)… I’m damn proud of them too!

Locals: I spend most of my waking hours at the psychology building, but when I get a break, I love to thrift shop, watch movies, go to the first friday art trail, and do anything else that gives me a break from school.

Off the Track: My number 1 priority is my three kids, Katarina (13) , Jonathan (10), Christian (7). I work for a local clinic as a manged care coordinator. I have 2 dogs. My hobbies include working out, playing softball and baking.

In the League: Track committee. I also help out with paint the town and the decorating committee.

Known For: taking hard hits and always getting back up.

Injuries: No injuries, only a few bruises.

Locals: I usually am hanging out with my family at sporting events or at Bodyworks. My favorite places to eat are Cancun or Cap Rock Cafe.

Off the Track: I enjoy spending time with my kids, friends, and family. I manage to keep myself occupied with volleyball and derby.

In the League: Secretary

Locals: You can find me cuttin’ loose at the Moose when I’m not at home or doing derby/volleyball stuff.  I also like to go to the lake, and catch up on my skiing when the snow is right.

Redneck Sam-R-I #7-8-9

On the Track: Blocker/ Jammer

Off the Track: Posing as a mild manner book keeper, Redneck works to conquer the conflicts of number crunching at a local restaurant management group. She spends her free time trying to beat her son Aaron at 007, playing fashion coordinator for her daughter Jacci, baking cookies at midnight and reading every book within 100 mile radius. Redneck is a self proclaimed obsessive compulsive freak and an often be found juggling multiple positions at the local PTA.

In the League: Public relations committee and events committee.

Known For: Redneck is best known as WTRD’s first casualty when she took on a renegade sidewalk and lost. She is known as the founder and president of  WTRD’s prestigious ” crutch club.”

Injuries: Shattered tibia/ fibia thanks to that sidewalk, black eye about a zillion bruises, and 1 really jammed finger!

Locals: You can find Redneck cruising the public libraries, bookstores, and thrift shops when she isn’t hanging out with her kids at the park, fishing, and playing baseball.

Off the Track: Art professor at SPC. 3 dogs 2 cats. Artist, runner, and working on a tattoo sleeve.

Known For: Being a klutz.

Injuries: For all the times I’ve fallen nothing more than serious rink rash.

On the Track: B3 mostly sometimes B4 and sometimes I jam.

Off the Track: I am a hairdresser at Salon Voulez Vou. I am a sound tech major at SPC. I ride dirt bikes and four-wheelers. I have a yellow lab named Juno. I love music, reading, dancing, riding, and drinking of course! I love to have a good time!!!

In the League: Blocker of the year 2008 2009!!! I’m on the stats and entertainment committee. Won best dancer 2008 and deadliest junk in the trunk 2009!

Known For: My humor, my heart, my drunken habits, my deadly junk in the trunk, and my ass shaking.

Injuries: Nothing too major. I’m short so my hips get busted in A LOT! Brutal rink rash and I busted some ligaments in my knee once.

Locals: Anywhere and everywhere a good time can be found!

Off the Track: Car sales assistant, motorcyclist, hanging out with little moto (7).

Known For: Stinky pads, good hits.

Injuries: Huge rink rash/bruise on left thigh.

Off the Track: Work for UMC cardiac rehab, attending nursing school (RN). No kids- 2 dogs, 1 cat, and an amazing New Zealand family to keep me on my toes! I love running and mountain biking when I’m not skating.

Off the Track: Elementary teacher, in grad school. Have two sons on Baseball travel teams. 2 Pets tarantula “Missy”; Snake “Teix”. I love the Teas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.

Known For: The sweatiest girl. Known for needing my own personal towel boy.

Injuries: 5 knee surgeries

Off the Track: Artist- commercial, videographer for Littlefield Wildcats. Happily married for 23 years 1 son, Cory who is 23. I also have a precious shelter dog – dolly, a miniature poodle. I love to hunt, camp, watching high school football, working out, biking and canoeing!

In the League: I am on the marketing committee but help with hospitality and decorations from time to time.

Known For: My contagious, can-do attitude! and I smile a lot!

Injuries: Broken leg- in half/ in three places, repaired with a titanium rod and four screws. Several bruises and most recently a broken pinky.

Locals: I hate shopping! but love hanging out with my derby girls- there’s always a party somewhere! I love Texas BBQ and concerts!

Off the Track: Each day is an adventure for Sunburst. With 3 very active kids she is usually running around taking them to practices or finding fun things for them to do as a family. She has an 8 year old daughter, a 10 year old son, and a 12 year old step son who are her biggest fans. Without the love of her life Robert (aka Mr. Sunburst) she would not be able to make it all work. They have been married just over 5 years. She works as a teacher’s aide at a local elementary school and takes classes at SPC as an education major. She will be transferring to Texas Tech within the next year.

Known for: Usually a quiet person but, on the track she can surprise!

Injuries: Bruises, rink rash, bruised ribs, dislocated knee cap, bruised/hairline fracture on tibia.

Locals: If Sunburst is out with friends you will find her usually somewhere you can dance. But Louie Louie’s, The Library, or Jakes are common hang outs. If eating out with family you might see them at Cracker Barrel, Casa Ole, or on the occasion of a late baseball game Rosa’s.

Off the Track: I am the proud mom of 2 super hero’s. Cooper is my shy guy, and Carson is my wild child. I don’t do plants- I’ll kill em. I love being with people, friends and especially my derby peeps. I have 2 semesters left on my masters. I do it all for the money and my kids!
